MEDIA DEVELOPMENT PROJECT: HUMAN RIGHTS PERSPECTIVE
This proposed 10-month project aims to bridge the aforementioned gap through empowering the media with key knowledge and analytical skills grounded in HR.

The overall objective of this project is to further skill the Media professionals in Oman with an HR mind set. This means:

- Sensitizing the media to Human Rights (HR) principles, values and processes.
- Enabling the media to identify, determine and analyze HR dimensions in the issues and topics addressed and deduce appropriate approaches to streamline HR in their analysis and coverage.
- Instilling the presence of HR in the mind of the populace, hence, enhancing responsibility and accountability.

The symposia attempts a more dialogue-centered approach. They will be designed to involve local correspondents, parliamentarians , representatives of the government and opinion leaders in the various local communities.
